I opened Quay Yoga Studio, Gloucester's first designated yoga studio on 8th October 2016.
I ventured into yoga over 8 years ago and honestly it was not a love at first practice thing. I remember my first class, i was nervous, stiff and didn't really understand half of what the teacher was asking me to do and I hurt for days after. It was the fact that my body hurt so much from something that much older men and women were comfortably able to do that made me return to the mat. It was self-care at it's purest.
My practice was sporadic at first but i consistently found myself returning to the mat as a method of reducing the effects other sports had on my body from dance to running a marathon and firmly believe the mind-body connection built during yoga has helped me achieve my previous sporting challenges. During my first few years of practice i tried as many styles and teachers as i could to see what worked best for me and my body and eventually found a consistent practice in hot vinyasa yoga whilst living in London. Upon moving back to Gloucester I began my teacher training in Vinyasa yoga, fast forward a few years of teaching all over the county, quitting the day job and landing a place on The Prince's Trust Enterprise Course, i opened the studio.
I'm a qualified, accredited and experienced yoga teacher and personal trainer with a focus on safe practice for my clients and myself. I have found that a consistent yoga practice has helped injury recovery alongside being a method of injury prevention too.I firmly believe that yoga should be accessible for everybody.
Yoga is something i am truly passionate about and i am privileged to get to share my passion with you during classes and private sessions available at the studio.
